One stray at a time

I one day hope to open a no-kill shelter for both dogs and cats. I am a 21-year-old living in Northern California with my boyfriend in a neighborhood that is the residential 'pet dump'. I rescue strays and ferals, participate in TNR'ing, and also foster any pregnant mamas that show up in my neighborhood. If you feel like donating, all money will be put towards spay/neuter and vet bills.

Meet Arya. Gorgeous torbie (tabby/tortie) female. 9 days old today.

Meet Khaleesi. Biggest of the litter, gorgeous orange and black tortie female. 9 days old now and her eyes are fully open. Her brother and sisters aren’t showing any sign of opening yet! :P She’s advanced.

Anonymous asked: I'm so sorry about Zambia. Just thinking about if that was my cat has me shaken up. I hope you're doing okay. :(

Thank you. It’s always so hard losing a rescue and in this particular case I felt it was my fault. The vet said it’s so rare for a kitten to have a reaction like that and reassured me there was no way of knowing. It gives me peace knowing I gave her love for her 8 short weeks here on Earth.

Meet Tyrion. 9 days old, runt of the group, white with orange male.

Meet Helena. 4 week old female, all black.

All of Kenya and Minerva’s kittens

have gone off to their new Furever Homes!

Except for Zambia who grew her wings too early </3

Pictures coming up of my two new rescue litters!

It’s kitten season, and it is ridiculous this year.

So fucking sad and upset right now.

Zambia just passed away in my hands.

An 8 week old kitten who should have went to her new home today just died.

It started after I gave her the dewormer-

she lost her appetite,

had ridiculous diarrhea.

I tried to force feed her formula

and she had seemed to be doing OK.

Ran to the store tonight and got pedialyte too

to give her an extra boost.

She just died in my hands.

:( :( :( :( :(

Reactions to the dewormer is rare,

but she was one of the unlucky ones

and now I feel like this is all my fault.

Rescuing is so hard sometimes.

Please spay and neuter your pets,

3 kittens turned to 2

The woman who’s cat gave birth to SEVEN kittens let her have them outside, and keep them outside. So at 4 weeks old of course babies start wandering which stresses mama and causes her to move them. She had moved 4 and left the 3 behind for 24 hours, apparently in the hour before I came she must have came back and grabbed another. We thought it best I take the last two since they will probably end up feral and keep reproducing otherwise. At least I can find a home for these two- which I already have. They will be going to a Furever Home together <3

Jill- abandoned with her brother Jack.

Jack- approx. 4 weeks old, abandoned by mama with his sister. He has a fever coat- which means mama or baby had a fever while still in the womb, which causes the lighter coat on his back. That will eventually turn all black as he grows older and out of it.
