One stray at a time

I one day hope to open a no-kill shelter for both dogs and cats. I am a 21-year-old living in Northern California with my boyfriend in a neighborhood that is the residential 'pet dump'. I rescue strays and ferals, participate in TNR'ing, and also foster any pregnant mamas that show up in my neighborhood. If you feel like donating, all money will be put towards spay/neuter and vet bills.

Over the past few weeks

we went through a lot of vet visits. $295 emergency visit to the vet at midnight when Wild Thing showed up after disappearing for 9 days with her eye looking horrible as ever and her having some mini-seizure fits. She got antibiotics and pain medication, and I am happy to say she is 100% recovered and doing great- the vet estimated her to be EIGHT YEARS OLD! Crazy, I had no idea she was that old. Then my dilute calico Stella got a massive foxtail stuck in her eye which was another $150 vet visit. And then we just got momma cat spayed last Tuesday, as well as tested and vaccinated. That was another $170. Kitties cost a lot, please be responsible and spay/neuter your pets to keep more strays and ferals off of the streets.

And this, right here, is the black male [needs a temporary name, suggestions?] i’ve posted about. He taught himself to use my cat door and has now moved up the list to be fixed and has an appointment to be on Monday. He showed up some amount of months ago looking for love and attention and never left. He is the funniest little thing ever, loves to roll over on his back and get his tummy scratched as well as play with you. He will be available for adoption and looking for his furever home after he recovers from his neutering.
